Creative Spot by Mahendra (Speedy) Gonsalkorale

I love you because - Jim Reeves song sung by Speedy

Here is one I did on a karaoke site called Smule. Hope blog visitors like it.
Jim Reeves was a Country Music singer and was only 41 years old when he died in an aeroplane crash. On Friday, July 31, 1964, Reeves and his business partner and manager Dean Manuel (also the pianist of Reeves' backing group, the Blue Boys) left Batesville, Arkansas, en route to Nashville in a single-engine Beechcraft Debonair aircraft, with Reeves at the controls. The two had secured a deal on some real estate (Reeves had also unsuccessfully tried to buy property from the LaGrone family in Deadwood, Texas, north of his birthplace of Galloway). While flying over Brentwood, Tennessee, they encountered a violent thunderstorm. A subsequent investigation showed that the small aeroplane had become caught in the storm and Reeves suffered spatial disorientation.

  2. I just listened to this and was immediately taken back to those times in the past when this song was popular. It was a favourite of my mother's too. Thanks for doing such a good job to bring us back the memories by doing a really wonderful job of singing it and towards the end one felt really happy and contented. Yes that's what I felt. I look forward to more like this. Zita

Great old song that brings back many memories of my youth. Although the future was uncertain preparing for public examinations life was serene and peaceful. Thank you for taking me back to those times which in reality are gone forever. Music as always reminds us of people and places.

  4. ND and Zita. The power of music to associate current experience with stored memories is very powerful. In may case, I could close my eyes when certain pieces are placed and transport myself to that time, and it could be so real. Because of this, I love some music but prefer not to listen to others which could rekindle not so pleasant memories! But as with most things in life, time is a great healer. Thanks to you and Zita for your kind observations.
